Burnjak 2024: Na-Tranke, on the smugglers\' route

Meeting point: 9:00 a.m. at the sports field car park in Tribil Superiore (33040 Stregna) A walk along one of the routes that our smugglers used to take: a story of the past The meeting point is in Tribil Superiore, to begin our walk along inter-pasture roads and paths that lead us close to the border with Slovenia.

The route, hidden from local guards and spies, on which we will encounter signs and decipher codes, in silence, so as not to fall into the ambushes of the financiers, and where unfortunately not everyone gets away with it. The reward for escaping danger can only end with a feast.

This will be followed by lunch with typical dishes from the Natisone Valleys, at the Burnjak feast, with the following menu: Orzotto with vegetables, lovage and Frant cheese from the Dairy of Cividale Sausage from the Snidaro farm and capers with apples Chestnuts from the Natisone Valleys 1 glass of wine, 1/2 litre water.

Route: winds along an easy path suitable for everyone; no particular skill is required Length and difference in height: about 10 Km; 309 metres Accompanying person: Antonio De Toni ASSOGUIDE environmental excursionist guide and expert in local history Equipment: trekking clothing, comfortable shoes, water as required Notes: four-legged friends are welcome.
