Cultural evenings held each year in the castle Dobrovo. Evenings, dedicated to the local poet Alojz Gradnik, are enriched with poetry, literature and music readings. Gradnik's nights 2024 15th November at 7 pm, Vila Vipolže MoPZ Srečko Kumar invites you to a concert on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the death of Srečko Kumar. Together with our guests, the professors of the Nova Gorica Music School, we will revive the memory of his rich musical activity. The programme will include a varied selection of compositions reflecting Kumar's passion for musical creation and his important contribution to musical culture in Yugoslavia and abroad.   21st November, 6 pm, Pavilion, Dobrovo Castle The presentation of the book "Gorica" by the writer Mateja Gomboc will be pleasantly enlivened by the performances of the pupils of the Alojz Gradnik Primary School, and the evening will be moderated by Megi Rožič with her chosen words and warm guidance.  The Mayor of Brda, Franc Mužič, will give a welcoming speech. The event will be enriched by the recollections of Alojz Gradnik by the humourist Andrej Jelačin.   22nd November at 7 pm, Vila Vipolže A musical and literary event dedicated to two important anniversaries: the 110th anniversary of the birth of Rado Simoniti, the renowned Slovenian composer, and the 50th anniversary of the publication of the poetry collection "Ptička bregarca", the work of the poet Ludvík Zorzut.
