Young eyes in the songs of spring

A literary evening at Villa Vipolže, with awards, poetry readings, live music, and special guest Jana Korečič.

We invite you to a literary evening, Young eyes in the poems of spring, on Thursday, 24 April at 7 pm at Villa Vipolže.

The literary evening Young eyes in the poems of spring is the conclusion of the eponymous literary competition, which the Alojz Gradnik Dobrovo Primary School is organising as a UNESCO Associated School.

The aim of the project is to encourage young people to create in the Slovenian language and to give them the opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings. This year, the students competed in three categories, namely the 2nd and 3rd grades of primary schools and high school students. The participation was outstanding, with more than ninety entries received by the expert jury. The young authors wrote on the themes of spring, friendship and childhood or youth.

On World Poetry Day (21 March), an electronic audio publication was also released, featuring the selected poems - three from each category.

These prize-winning poems will be presented in more detail at the Literary Evening, and the publication will be available for purchase. The programme will be enlivened with wonderful musical and instrumental items by the pupils of the school. The literary guest of the evening will be the versatile artist from Vrtojba, Jana Korečič.

She will present her work, especially the second part of her young adult novel Neon.

Everyone is cordially invited, especially lovers of gentle verses and melodies.
