The Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for the Development and the European Cohesion Policy has confirmed 29 new cycling routes, which will be financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the state budget of the Republic of Slovenia. Among them is also our proposal!

The project, which stems from the collaboration of the EGTC GO with občina Brda and RRA Severne Primorske, provides for the arrangement of the Dobrovo-Vipolže-Italy-Nova Gorica cycle link, with the participation of the municipality of San Floriano del Collio, municipality of Mossa and municipality of Gorizia. The expected duration of the project is from 2021 to 2023.

The total estimated budget of the project is € 1,622,798.01, of which the EGTC GO will manage € 126,283.67.

The object of this project concerns the implementation of a series of interventions aimed at improving safety and visibility, in relation to cycling along the road networks of the municipalities of S. Floriano del Collio, Mossa and Gorizia, as well as improving connections with routes outside the national borders, with the aim of connecting the entire Brda area with Gorizia and Nova Gorica.

The intervention comprises 3 sections:

- the first part goes from the town of Dobrovo to the border with Italy (Vipolže) along the local road,

- the second part crosses the Italian territory on local and regional roads, city streets, paths and cycle paths.

- the third part runs in Italy from the bridge over the Isonzo river along the city streets of Gorizia to Nova Gorica, where the route is mostly safely separated from car traffic or on low-traffic roads.
