The B-Solutions projects of the EGTC GO at the #EURegionsWeek

Our B-Solutions projects were presented as an example of good practice at the European Week of Regions and Cities. B-solutions is a 2-year long initiative to tackle legal and administrative border obstacles along EU internal borders

Our Project Manager Lara Devetak presented the projects implemented by EGTC GO so far:

The first project is CB PUMP, a project aimed at solving the problem due to the absence of transport lines connecting the two countries. A working table has been set up and we are currently finalizing the draft agreement between the Slovenian Ministry of Infrastructure and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.

The second project is named E-Procurement. The obstacle was the mandatory use of e-procurement platforms for public procurements but with different standards for the calculation of VAT, mandatory fields and digital signature, in addition of course to the different language.

The result is a platform capable of operating with the systems of both countries.

The third presented project is Cross-border bike-sharing. The obstacles are given by an obsolete bike-sharing system in Gorizia, incompatible with that of Nova Gorica. In addition to this, there are legal obstacles such as insurance, payments, VAT calculation, taxes, etc.

A report was made and now the three cross border municipalities involved have signed an agreement to implement the system. Funds are currently being sought to finance the system.

The fourth and final case is GO! Square, which is linked to Nova Gorica - Gorizia European Capital of Culture 2025. Piazza Transalpina / Trg Evrope is located both in Italy and in Slovenia, and in order to organize truly cross-border events we requested assistance in creating a vademecum for organizers of both Italian and Slovenian events.
