EGTC GO at the States general on beauty

EGTC GO at the States general on beauty

On Thursday 18 and Friday 19 July, the city of Cuneo will host the States General of Beauty, the third edition of this event after the editions of San Gimignano in 2022 and Andria in 2023, which saw the participation of more than 150 mayors and administrators from all over Italy and around 40 speakers of national importance over the two days, with the presence of ministers and high institutional officials, called to discuss the issue with the local administrators' base. The national assembly of councillors for culture and tourism, organised by ALI - Autonomie locali italiane, will propose a series of meetings on the themes of beauty, sustainable development, European and Italian capitals of culture, local development on a cultural basis.

One of the panels, precisely on Friday 19 July at 10.30 a.m., will feature Marco Marinuzzi from EGTC GO, who will talk about GO! 2025 and the possibilities, offered by culture, to overcome difficulties of many kinds. The theme is in fact Capitals of Culture: An Evolving Title. In addition to Marinuzzi, the other speakers will be Michele Guerra, Mayor of Parma, Elena Piastra, President of ALI Piemonte and Mayor of Settimo Torinese, Rossella Tarantino, Capital of Culture Panel, EU Commission, and Salvatore Adduce, former President of the Matera-Basilicata 2019 Foundation.

The association ALI - Autonomie locali italiane believes that with the great work done for the selection of the Italian Capital of Culture cities, since 2016, a great leap forward has been made, but there is still plenty of room for growth if policies for culture and sustainable tourism, for the care of the monumental and natural heritage and the rediscovery of typical features, are addressed by Italian municipalities in a unified, creative and innovative way.
