BLOOD WITHOUT BORDERS

FIDAS Isontina and Slovenian Red Cross of Nova Gorica, on the World Blood Donor Day (June, 14th 2025), mean to propose a joint collection of blood components with the blood vehicle in Piazza Transalpina/Trg Evrope: both Italian and Slovenian donors will be called to donate blood and plasma to signify how the culture and values of blood donation are a heritage that goes far beyond all borders. In parallel, other activities for health service will be organized during the morning, and recreational activities such as workshops for kids and moments of musical entertainment.

World Blood Donor Day is celebrated annually on June 14th. FIDAS Isontina and Slovenian Red Cross of Nova Gorica mean to promote the value and importance of the culture of blood donation and healthy lifestyles by organizing a donation "on the border" that goes "beyond the borders".

The two entities have decided to organise a joint collection of blood components with the blood vehicle in Piazza Transalpina/Trg Evrope, on the morning of 14 June 2025, welcoming both Italian and Slovenian donors on the vehicle. In conjunction with the collection of blood components, other activities for the health control and prevention of diseases will be organized and offered to citizens, in order to promote not only blood donation but also the importance of pursuing correct and healthy lifestyles. The day will be completed by creative workshops for kids and moments of musical entertainment, performances by Italian and Slovenian folk groups and a concert in the square which will mark the end of the day.

The event will be an important moment of tangible meeting between two cultures, the Italian and the Slovenian ones, which are united by the importance of the values of blood donation and healthy lifestyles. Moreover, it will give the opportunity to inaugurate the activity of the new regional blood vehicle, realised thanks to the contribution of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
