Not sure when to water your plants? Come to the Digigarden workshop and make your own DIY moisture sensors and automatic sprinkler!

On 27 March 2025, 24 April 2025 and 29 May 2025 at 17:00, a 3-day workshop on plant breeding will take place at the Xcentre in Nova Gorica.

The Digivrt workshop is the ideal opportunity to make your own DIY soil moisture sensors and connect them to an automatic sprinkler. The workshop will be held in three sessions. In the first one, we will build our own automatic soil moisture sensor and create a reservoir for it from a used plastic bottle. In the second session, we will wirelessly read information from sensors in an app to learn about the Internet of Things (IoT). In the last session, we will explore how to sustainably power our electronic gardens with solar panels. 

Please bring an empty plastic bottle to the first workshop, which we will use to make a tank.

The workshop is free and aimed at children aged between 9 and 15.
