GoJewishGo. Jewish culture in the Gorizia region and beyond

Event open to the public to present and explain the structure of the project: from the training of guides, who will be available to anyone, to how to use Augmented Reality at the various chosen sites.

In the museum of the Jewish Community of Trieste ‘Carlo and Vera Wagner’ the project will be presented, how it developed and how it can be useful for the widest possible public.

The first part of the project focused on the training of Italian and Slovenian tourist guides from the Isonzo area and Trieste in particular, in order to provide them with the appropriate religious, historical and cultural knowledge to be able to conduct guided tours of the Jewish sites in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Nova Gorica and Stanjel. The guides, after passing an examination, will be available to visitors and will be able to pass on and recount all that they have learned.

The second key part of the project was the implementation of augmented reality at the sites identified as the most significant: from San Daniele del Friuli, to Gorizia, to Gradisca d'Isonzo, to Nova Gorica and Stanjel.

The creators, from the University of Venice ‘Ca'Foscari’, will be present to explain how it works. The texts and audio of the Augmented Reality will be in Hebrew, English, Italian, Slovenian and German. This will ensure the widest possible access for visitors from Italy, Slovenia or other countries, as well as inhabitants of the places concerned.
