Imaginarium—Evening of Painting, Poetry, and Music

Imaginarium—an evening of art, poetry and music.
The European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia will host a very special event—Imaginarium, an evening where painting, poetry and music will be intertwined into a single artistic narrative. Three extraordinary artists will combine their creative worlds to bring visitors a unique experience.
Polish-Slovenian painter Joanna Zając-Slapničar will present her watercolours and paintings of different techniques. Her work subtly intertwines colours and emotions and visually interprets poetic images that reach into the deepest feelings. The exhibition will be on show at the Xcenter Gallery until 19 April 2025.
Poet Marzena Ewa Krajewska, diplomat, Slavist and Bohemian, will introduce the audience to her bilingual collection of poetry Kilka nieoczekiwanych chwilów/A Few Unexpected Moments. Her poems, which inspired the watercolours on display, open the door to a world of inner experiences and reflections on life, time and art.
The evening will be rounded off by the renowned Polish jazz saxophonist Joanna Blejwas with her musical interpretations of the miniatures. Her unique arrangements will take the audience through the sonic beauty of the interpreted verses and the exhibited paintings.
Imaginarium is not just an event, but a space of artistic expression where different artistic genres intertwine to create a new narrative. One of Marzena Krajewska's poems, Imaginarium, was created in response to the tragic events of the war in Ukraine.
How does an artist experience difficult times? How does the inner world of art respond to social and historical change? What role does imagination play in painting, poetry and music?
The European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia is the right place to reflect and discuss these issues.
