Jubilee Exhibition Reflections of Hope

As part of the Jubilee Year 2025, the Exhibition Reflections of Hope brings together the work of 33 academic artists from Slovenia and abroad. They created works (paintings and sculptures) on the theme of hope.

Reflections of Hope is a group exhibition of paintings and sculptures by 33 Slovenian academic artists who have created or selected one work on the theme of hope from their oeuvre. The exhibition is inspired by the Pope's message for the Jubilee Year, in which he describes hope as the desire and expectation of good things and a call to trust in interpersonal relations, society and respect for creation.

The project was conceived and organised by journalist Ksenja Hočevar and art historian Bernarda Stenovec in collaboration with the Stane Kregar Gallery and the Družina Gallery. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue with reproductions of the works, presentations of the artists and their thoughts on hope.

In the accompanying foreword, the academic Prof. Dr. Milček Komelj points out that artists today are indulging in hope in a more personal way - not only as a symbolic image, but as an expressive power of light, which in the language of art is becoming a symbol of salvation and faith for a better tomorrow.

The exhibition will be on display in all Slovenian dioceses and abroad between March 2025 and January 2026, and will be on display in both Gorizia (in the Ars Gallery and in the hall below the Concathedral) from 1 to 30 April 2025. The exhibition will be accompanied by a roundtable discussion on Beauty Awakens Hope on 23 April.
