The final event, involving the cross-border communities of Gorizia and Nova Gorica – unique in Europe as part of the European Capital of Culture context – will allow for the demonstration of the functionality of the decision-support platform developed by the project. End-users, including public authorities and private stakeholders, will have the opportunity to simulate complex scenarios, assess risks and vulnerabilities, identify potential threats, and co-design strategies to safeguard public spaces without compromising their open and inclusive nature. This event will be a significant opportunity to highlight the key role of citizens in ensuring the safety of European cities.

The SAFE-CITIES project – riSk-based Approach For the protEction of public spaces in European CITIES, funded by the Horizon EU program, aims to enhance the safety of European public spaces through a security-by-design approach, providing security assessment methodologies and technological tools integrated into the SAFE-CITIES decision-making platform.
