“Travelling Coexistence” art exhibition by Jingge Dong

Jingge Dong (Beijing 1989) lives and works in Venice. His works are notable for their fusion of Eastern and Western traditions. Jingge explores the dialogue between realism and abstraction, combining symbols and techniques from both cultures. His artworks evoke transience, balancing Chinese influences and European figurative painting with a keen pictorial sensibility. The exhibition explores the theme of coexistence, seen as a reflection on the contemporary world through travel, understood both physically and internally. For Dong, travel represents an opportunity to open up to new perspectives, engage in dialogue, and understand the concept of coexistence.

Born in Beijing in 1989, Jingge Dong lives and works in Venice. With a master's degree from the Venice Academy of Fine Arts and an MFA from the Chinese National Academy of Arts, his art blends Chinese symbols and Western techniques, exploring the interaction between the two cultures. His works, exhibited internationally and featured in collections such as Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa and Ca' Pesaro in Venice, delve into the complexities of cultural identity.

This exhibition revolves around the theme of coexistence, a reflection that emerges from the experience of travel, conceived as both physical exploration and inner growth. For Dong, coexistence is a continuous questioning of the contemporary world, an invitation to dialogue and understanding. Only through “travel” can we open ourselves to new perspectives and truly embrace the concept of coexistence.
