Winter afternoons

Winter Afternoons, the winter season of the CTA - Centro Teatro Animazione e Figure, celebrates its 25th edition this year, an anniversary that marks a journey made of care, research and dedication to young audiences and their families. This event, which has now become a tradition, goes beyond the boundaries of conventional puppet theatre, bringing innovative proposals to the stage, where the magic of theater intertwines with other art forms and embraces new expressive languages. This special edition offers a program open to changing public tastes, with a theatrical offering designed to intrigue and involve young spectators. The shows are an opportunity to talk about emotions, relationships between people, ecology, stories and characters of Gorizia and Nova Gorica, ranging from the classical repertoire to original artistic contaminations. Eight plays will be performed on the stage of the Kulturni Center Lojze Bratuž in Gorizia, including two new CTA productions. To open the season, 2XGO, a co-production of the CTA and Slou Coop which tells, between puppetry and music, stories and curiosities about characters from Gorizia and Nova Gorica.

Two lively musicians begin walking in the city center, between Gorizia and Nova Gorica, giving life to an exploration that intertwines history, music and theater animated by images. A unique adventure that allows you to discover the many facets of different and fascinating cities: from curiosities about the castle of Gorizia to the burial of the last of the Bourbons, from the first flight of Edo Rusian to the construction of the railway bridge over the Isonzo. A real journey into an area which, between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, was multicultural and multilingual; where Friulian, Slovenian, Italian, German, and even French were spoken; and which thanks to all this variety has led to many curious and interesting anecdotes up until today.

2XGO is a CTA and Slou Coop co-production, created thanks to the Art&Puppets project, financed by the European Union under the Small Project Fund GO! 2025 of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Program 2021-2027, managed by the EGTC GO.
