The 10th Regional Conference on Asbestos in FVG is the moment of dialogue and confrontation of the Regional Asbestos Commission with institutions, scientific and cultural organisations and citizens interfacing on the issues of past and present exposure to asbestos and its health, environmental and social consequences.
On the occasion of Nova Gorica - Gorizia 2025, the organisers of the Conference have expanded the space that has always been reserved for cross-border discussions, inviting researchers and representatives of Slovenian institutions dealing with the prevention of risks from exposure to asbestos, support for exposed persons and environmental pollution and remediation from the mineral.
The conference will also present and discuss the results of research partly financed by the Region and carried out by local health facilities and universities, with the aim of improving and deepening knowledge of asbestos-related diseases and their pathogenesis, opening up new prospects for treatment.
Space will also be given to primary prevention, with speeches illustrating the state of asbestos remediation and disposal, clinical and epidemiological experiences, therapeutic innovations, and social security and insurance aspects, with speeches by INAIL and Associations engaged in the territory in assistance activities for former asbestos victims and their families.
