56th Ed. Barcolana

56th year for this great festival of the sea, a meeting opportunity for over 20 thousand sailors in front of over 300 thousand spectators: the most crowded and best loved regatta in the Mediterranean.

After the great success of the 50th edition and the recognition as ‘the largest sailing race in the world’ by the Guinness Book of Records, Barcolana adds a ‘+6’ to the 50th edition, which aims to talk about the sea and the environment, and to bring together all sailing enthusiasts in Trieste, the city that becomes the international capital of sailing.  The start of the Barcolana 56 regatta will be given at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday 13 October, at the climax of a nine-day event and celebration. The route of the Barcolana55 presented by Generali includes a quadrilateral with fixed vertices positioned in the Gulf of Trieste, with a total length of 13 nautical miles.

The start is set at 10.30 a.m. and the line is positioned between Barcola and Miramare. From 4 October onwards, a rich calendar of events will transform Trieste into a stage that will host a real Festival of the Sea.
