Goriška brda is known as a wine-growing region, famous for its fine wines and juicy and delicious cherries. In addition to viticulture and fruit-growing, The locals also produce olive oil. Olive cultivation has been widespread in the Brda region and in the wider Goriška region in the past. Over the decades, this activity slowly began to decline, but is now on the rise again. Our San Martin farm has almost 500 olive trees of different varieties. We have prepared a guided olive oil tasting in Šmartno, where you will have the opportunity to discover the flavours and aromas that olive oil has to offer. We will also take a walk through our olive orchard, enjoy the views of the wine-growing hills of the Brda and learn about the basics of oil production.
