CASTELLO DI SPESSA
Castello di Spessa is a magnificent manor laying in the very heart of Friulian Collio, an enchanting hilly area covered in vineyards in Friuli Venezia Giulia (north-eastern Italy), on the border with Slovenia.
The castle was built in 1200, but we know that also at the roman times there was a settlement here. Then, for hundreds of years, it has been the residence of friulian noblesse, who hosted lots of personalities, one for all Giacomo Casanova, in 1773.
In 1987, Castello di Spessa and its vineyards was purchased by Pali Family, that gave birth to Castello di Spessa Golf & Wine Resort, with a 18 holes Golf Course, Winery, Wine Shop, Hotel and gourmand restaurant La Tavernetta al Castello, restaurant Hosteria del Castello, Bistrot Il Gusto di Casanova, meeting rooms, event rooms, digital detox experience in Appartamenti nelle Vigne and in Casale in Collina.
