Fishing on the Vipava River

The richness of waters around Miren

The Vipava River surprises with its beauty, meanders and rapids, and even a greater richness is hidden below its surface. Sport fishermen say that life in the Vipava River is incredible, because there are so many different types of fish sharing one living area. Different types of fish can be found here, from the Soča trout and grayling that are most common in the upper stream, to pikes, common chub, eels and catfish that is the most prominent resident of the Vipava River and can be found in the lower stream.

You can enjoy in all types of fishing, from fly fishing to spin fishing, spey casting and ground fishing that are interesting for amateur and experienced fishermen. The lower stream of the Vipava River around Miren is managed by the Renče Fishing Club. Almost 50 km long river rounds up its stream on the Slovenian side with three spectacular meanders around Miren and runs to Italy where it merges with the emerald Soča River. Enjoy in the serenity of fishing, green views of Miren Kras and great company. We wish you a good catch!
