Giardino Viatori

The Garden, created in Gorizia by Luciano Viatori, brings together, in a green space overlooking the city, the Isonzo, the Karst and the Pre-Alps, splendid collections of flowers and plants, whose rich blooming culminates in the spring season. Rhododendrons and azaleas, hydrangeas, peonies, climbing roses and deciduous magnolias can be admired in bloom from March to June, while herbaceous perennials and bulbous plants complete the flowerbeds, forming brightly coloured and contrasting patches.

Using the goGreen App, visitors can immerse themselves in the nature of the Garden by accessing immersive insights into its botanical collection.

In the heart of the park, the Casa Viatori offers an innovative and interactive experience to discover the Garden and its history: interactive touch points, augmented reality content (AR+) and virtual reality stations tell the story of Prof. Viatori's life and project, allowing visitors to explore the secrets of the blooms in a combination of technology and nature.

Starting from the beauty of the Garden, the Viatori House opens a window on the entire surrounding area for visitors, inviting them to explore the natural and cultural riches of these places.

The Viatori Garden is one of the ‘goGreen Points’ of the goGreen programme, a project of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Gorizia to enhance the cultural, historical and landscape heritage of the province of Gorizia.

The programme promotes a model of sustainable tourism, based on slow mobility and the rediscovery of the relationship between man and nature, with respect for places and environmental resources. Landscape, historical memories, sustainability and innovation are the main dimensions on which the goGreen experiences are based.
