Footbridge over the Isonzo/Soča river

The footbridge joins the two banks of the Isonzo/Soča river and both countries at the Kayak Centre in Solkan and is a starting point for excursions in the cross-border area of Nova Gorica and Gorizia, connecting to the network of local bicycle paths.

Inaugurated on 14.10.2022, the footbridge provides a safe and attractive connection to the regional cycle paths, and at the same time includes new cross-border connections between Nova Gorica, Gorizia and Šempeter-Vrtojba. Within the scope of the Isonzo-Soča project, financed by the Interreg Italia-Slovenija 2014-2020 programme, our cross-border territory acquires new recreational opportunities for residents and visitors through connections and cycling routes on the Italian and Slovenian sides for a total length of 14 km.
