Tolmin museum

Located in the former Coronini Manor in the centre of Tolmin, the Tolmin Museum presents the rich cultural heritage of the Soča region.

The incredible archeological finds from Most na Soči stand out at the permanent exhibition, entitled The Soča Region Historical Deposits, particularly those from the early iron age. The ethnological-historical part of the exhibition has an attractive display of the dwelling culture in the Tolmin region and the rich history of the area, which includes the fight for the old rights – the Great Tolmin Peasant Revolt of 1713.

The museum also includes a gallery, where you may see various temporary exhibitions, a small museum shop and a wedding room. You may agree upon guided tours of cultural monuments in the immediate surroundings of Tolmin for announced groups of visitors. The cultural monuments include the German Ossuary near Tolmin, the archeological trail and the museum at Most na Soči, Ciril Kosmač Homestead in Slap ob Idrijci, Simon Gregorčič Birth House in Vrsno and the Church of St. Mary’s Call in Ponikve.
