The museum, in the centre of Prvačina, houses the main collection dedicated to the courage of women who went to Egypt to earn money with which they fed their children and entire families they left behind in our countries.

The Museum of Alexandrian Women

The House of Alexandrian Women is the museum's central collection, preserving the memory of the brave women who earned their living in Egypt to provide for their homes and families between the late 19th century and the Second World War.

The House of Alexandrian Women, located in the centre of Prvačina, is mainly dedicated to the stories of individual Alexandrian women from different parts of the Vipava Valley. The exhibition features original garments, documents and objects brought back in the "bauls" (large travelling cases) from Egypt. Some furniture pieces are also on display.
