Solkan Carpentry Museum

The Carpenters' Museum in Solkan displays furniture items made by carpenters in the area that represent the material culture of the flourishing local craft of the past.
Solkan Carpentry MuseumThe museum displays furniture pieces made by local Solkan area carpenters. It bears witness to the material culture that emerged from a once highly sophisticated trade pursued in this area. A highlight of the display is the upholstered office furniture made for Josip Broz - Tito in the 1950s and commissioned by the government. There is a room with interactive multimedia contents designed to help the younger crowd in particular learn more about carpentry. The exhibition is a joint effort of the Carving, Inlaying and Restoration Society Solkan, and the Regional Museum Goriški Muzej.
