The project delves into the vibrant history of Nova Gorica and presents it in an engaging, accessible format. Through an in-depth analysis of literature, historical sources, and interviews with residents, a digital archive has been created that weaves together articles, stories, memories, and personal testimonies. The project also features a tourist guidebook that offers an immersive journey through the city’s urbanism, history, and culture.
Nova Gorica is the first 20th century city built entirely from scratch, ab initio, to achieve the status of a European Capital of Culture. To contextualize its significance, the project also highlights other European cities with similar origins, placing Nova Gorica in a broader, comparative perspective.
