Borders. From Turner to Monet to Hopper. Song with Variations is an exhibition featuring about 100 paintings, exploring the theme of “borders” in international painting of the 19th and 20th centuries. Hosted in the East Exedra of Villa Manin from October 11, 2025 to April 12, 2026, the exhibition is divided into eight sections. From the infinite skies of Friedrich and Monet to the vast seas of Turner and Courbet, from the epic mountains of Segantini to the interior borders of Van Gogh and Munch, to the exotic dreams of Gauguin and the gardens of Monet, the border becomes a metaphor for infinity and imagination.
