The call for proposals ‘Corti senza confine’, promoted by the FVG Film Commission with the contribution of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region (Department of Culture), envisaged the production of a short film of a maximum length of 20 minutes, either fiction or animation on the theme of the absence of borders.
The short film had to be able to tell the story of the Gorizia and cross-border territory, through its values, its history, its peculiarities linked to being a ‘borderland’, in a historical moment in which precisely the absence of borders has led to the nomination of Nova Gorica - Gorizia as European Capital of Culture for the year 2025.
The maximum contribution amounted to 100,000.00 (one hundred thousand) euro, to cover the total costs. The announcement was a huge success and the decision of the jury, chaired by director Gabriele Salvatores, on the winning projects among the 150 submitted was not an easy one, also considering their high quality. The 8 winning projects will be screened as part of GO! 2025 (Nova Gorica-Gorizia - European Capital of Culture 2025) in all the most visible occasions, as well as embarking on a path of festival distribution in the most important international festivals.
