The opera The Journey to Reims pays tribute to Charles X of the Bourbons who spent his final days at Palazzo Coronini and chose the Monastery of Kostanjevica as his eternal resting place. This production by the Piccolo Opera Festival, in collaboration with SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, revives the essence of artistic expression and a borderless experience. The square, poetically transformed, becomes the stage, immersing the audience as integral participants in the story. Through this direct engagement, viewers feel the narrative and atmosphere firsthand. The opera’s magic—ever transcending boundaries—brings history, emotions, and the essence of the region vividly to life.
