The Go Green Cinema (GGC) project aims to make high-quality cinema more accessible in the cross-border area by adopting a sustainable approach. It involves establishing a network of 18 cultural venues equipped with state-of-the-art mobile equipment for digital screenings, thereby bolstering cultural engagement and sustainable tourism. The project also includes training programs for technical staff and tourism professionals.
Its goal is to spread cinematic culture throughout the entire cross-border territory, reaching even the most remote areas where high-quality screening infrastructure is lacking, and engaging both residents and visitors. The implementation of "green" cinemas will be supervised by external experts, while a sustainability manual will be developed to guide the public and the operators of the European Capital of Culture in transitioning toward more eco-friendly practices.
Go Green Cinema intends to raise awareness about the value of cultural heritage, promote sustainable behaviors, and enhance the quality of life.
