Information about parking - Opening 08/02

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN NOVA GORICA?

On 8 February 2025, the opening day of the ECoC, parking for visitors will be available in the following free car parks:

Parking for visitors:

• Supernova Mercator Nova Gorica Shopping Centre (Prvomajska ulica 35, Nova Gorica),
• Hofer Nova Gorica (Cesta 25.junija 1L, Nova Gorica).
• Merkur Nova Gorica (Industrijska cesta 9, Nova Gorica).
  • Free shuttle buses will run from the Merkur car park to the city centre (stop at the Perla Casino) between 12:00 and 24:00.

Visitors arriving in Nova Gorica via the expressway from Ajdovščina are kindly requested to take the Vogrsko exit. Before Nova Gorica, they will be directed to the appropriate car park by the traffic wardens.

Parking for the disabled:

• Regional archives Nova Gorica(Trg Edvarda Kardelja 3, Nova Gorica).

Disabled persons will be able to park in the immediate vicinity of the venue on the lawn in front of the municipal building, at the Regional Archives Nova Gorica, and access a special disabled space just below the stage at the venue.

Parking for buses and campers:

• SIA Parking (Cesta IX.Korpusa 106, Solkan).

Performers and invited guests will be able to park in the designated parking spaces.

Journalists will be able to park at the media centre, which will be located in the MIC center, Cankarjeva ul. 8a, 5000 Nova Gorica. 50 parking spaces will be available. A circulator van will be available for transporting journalists between the venues on Europe Square and in front of the Municipal Building.

Please note that due to the preparation and removal of the stage for the opening ceremony of the European Capital of Culture, the parking lot on Trg Edvarda Kardelja (in front of the Nova Gorica Town Hall and the Slovenian National Theatre Nova Gorica) will be closed until Saturday, 15 February 2025, at 12:00.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN GORIZIA?

Free blue zones throughout the city.

No parking:
- From 8 a.m. to midnight in piazzale Musina and in piazza Cesare Battisti
- From 8 am to 4 pm in via Canova from corso Italia to via Mattioli
- From 8am to the end of the procession in corso Italia between via IX Agosto-via XXIV Maggio to corso Verdi
- From 8am to the end of the demonstration in piazza Vittoria between via Mameli and via Oberdan - via Roma

Events in Transalpina
- From 2 to 5 p.m. no parking in via Foscolo, via Caprin, via Luzzatto, via dei Catterini and via Montesanto (between via Caprin and house no. 50 on the even-numbered side and from house no. 45 to house no. 31 on the odd-numbered side)
- From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. no traffic in piazza Transalpina, via Caprin, via Foscolo, via Montesanto (from the intersection with via Mighetti and via Palladio to the State Border) and via Ciconi (from via Caprin to via Luzzatto-Paternolli), via Percoto, via Michelstaedter (from via Rocca to via Montesanto) and via Percoto
- From 5 pm to midnight no parking in via Caprin and via Luzzatto
- From 8 pm to midnight no traffic in via Caprin from piazza Transalpina to via Ciconi, piazza Transalpina, via Foscolo, via Luzzatto and via Percoto.
