Dawn After The End Of History
For Nova Gorica and Gorizia European Capital of Culture 2025 A TRILOGY that starts from Joseph Roth's CRIPTA DEI CAPPUCCINI, to explore what remains of a border from its roots. 3 theatrical performances, 3 Italian and 3 Slovenian radio plays, 1 documentary and 1 Italian and 1 Slovenian book: different languages and two languages for Inabili alla morte/Nezmožni umreti, a Mittelfest project for GO!2025, with great protagonists, original creations and the collaboration of different realities.
The third play,
L'alba dopo la fine della storia (provisional title), will have its first performances on 20 and 21 September 2025, again at the Teatro Verdi in Gorizia, will be based on an original text by Paolo Di Paolo, with dramaturg Jacopo Giacomoni, and directed by Giacomo Pedini, and will take us to the beginning of the 1990s, when Europe is experiencing the fall of the walls and the illusion of perpetual peace and prosperity, with the opening up of new relations and seemingly unlimited access to heavenly goods and well-being. Cristian Carrara's music will again be entrusted to the performance of the FVG Orchestra. ‘The History that someone declares ‘over’ continues to walk on, crippled: in every way, fierce.
‘Europe’ is a promise or a deception. ‘Future’ is a tattered flag waving, a banner waved by the powerful over the faces of the crowd. In the time that, recklessly, we called peace, blood flowed by the gallon,' anticipates author Paolo Di Paolo from the subject.
