GONG District: day-long cross-border celebration of music

GONG District is the first in a series of events organised by the GONG platform in the year of the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025, in cooperation with seven Slovenian and Italian partners. This day-long event will unite 9 concerts and 5 DJ performances at various locations in Nova Gorica and Gorizia.

About GONG
GONG is a networking platform that brings together NGOs from Nova Gorica and Gorizia, active in the field of concerts and cultural events. The partners of the project are GONG Institute (Nova Gorica, SI), KUD Morgan (Nova Gorica, SI), Masovna Institute (Nova Gorica, SI), KUD Zvočni izviri (Nova Gorica, SI), Circolo Controtempo (Cormons, IT), Gruppo Area di Ricerca - Dobialab (Dobbia, IT) and Associazione culturale MoreMusic (Monfalcone, IT).

Our ambition is to make a long-term mark on the wider border area, to integrate the Nova Gorica region and the Municipality of Gorizia with the surrounding area into a common cultural space, to accelerate the development of local musical culture and to place our conurbation on the world map of popular music destinations.

The GONG project is designed as a support structure for the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025.
