Museum Tuesday Evening: the Role of the Bohinj Railway in the Kobarid Breakthrough and the Design of the Great Bridges

Gorazd Humar, researcher of the Bohinj railway and its bridges, will present the role of the Bohinj railway in the breakthrough at Kobarid and how its large bridges were designed in case of military conflicts. He will lecture on a hitherto unknown record of a Colonel of the Staff of Engineers (Geniestab) of the Austro-Hungarian army on the key role of the Bohinj Railway in the breakthrough at Kobarid.

He will show, among other things, the demolition of the Solkan Bridge and the large bridge in Ajba and the fate of both bridges during World War II, with numerous photographs.
