Opening of the Communication Office and Unveiling of the Statue

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, the Communication Office of the European Capital of Culture 2025, Nova Gorica - Gorizia, will officially open its doors. At the same time, we will unveil the bust of Edvard Rusjan, positioned opposite the Rusjan Monument and the GO! 2025 office.

The event will begin at 16:00 at the bust of Edvard Rusjan on Erjavčeva ulica Street, followed by a flypast. Attendees will be welcomed by the Mayor of Nova Gorica, Samo Turel, and the GO! 2025 Artistic Adviser, Neda Rusjan Bric. The statue, created by Bojan Štokelj, will be introduced by art historian Klavdija Figelj.  After the unveiling, Mija Lorbek, Director of the GO! 2025 Public Institute will deliver a speech at the opening of the ECoC Communication Office. The event will conclude with a social gathering accompanied by snacks and music, featuring the anthem composed by the wind orchestra Goriški pihalni orkester for the European Capital of Culture.  

The office will also shortly announce office hours for visits from the local community and other interested parties who wish to learn more about our programme. We are also planning to offer training and consultation sessions for cultural practitioners, which will be held at our new communication office.
