Peaces—Exploration of Plural Peace across Borders

The Weltecho Cultural Centre in Chemnitz, Germany, will exhibit works by young artists from Nova Gorica, Udine, Banja Luka, Chemnitz and beyond.

Peaces exhibition delves into the concept of peace as a plural and multifaceted experience, highlighting its artistic visions, as well as its social speculations. Uniting contemporary art installations, videos, photographs, performances, and films, it features the work of young artists from Nova Gorica, Udine, Banja Luka, Chemnitz, and beyond.
Curated by pETER Purg (University of Nova Gorica, ACROSS, GO! 2025) and designed by Gašper Rebernik, Taša Mir, and Matej Pirkovič (School of Arts, University of Nova Gorica), the exhibition is a collaborative effort supported by The City of Chemnitz, the University of Nova Gorica (Erasmus+ and ACROSS Allience), Chemnitz Technical University, and European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia.
The exhibition presents the works by the following artists: Abiral Khadka, Aljaž Lavrič, Andrea Mariani, Ana Evtić, Anja Paternoster, Arta Kroni, Batul Al Aidi, Blaž Stantič Kobal, Brina Fekonja, BIhar, Doroteja Dolinšek, Emilija Vučićevič, EMMIR, Frederic Bußmann, Gašper Rebernik, Heidrun Friese, Ivana Kalc, Karel Doing, Kristina Pranjić, Maria Matiashova, Matej Pirkovič, Milena Brkić, Nika Karner, Natalie Bleyl, Peter Purg, Sandra Marić, Simone Dotto, Simon Weckert, Taša Mir, Tamara Kirina, Tamara Taskova, Tijana Mijušković and Ulrike Brummert.
The vernissage and the film screening will be followed by a poetic panel event presenting perspectives on peace by the artist Sandy Schwermer, scholar dr. Sorin Cazacu and Lawyer/Activist Franz Knoppe.
