The city of Codroipo stands at the centre of the karst spring zone. The area was inhabited since the Roman age and the name of the locality derives from the latin word "Quadrivium".
Several are the archeological finds hosted in the Civic Museum.

The infinite beauty of the Risorgive (karst spring) Park can best be appreciated either on foot or by bike. In some places it will be like walking on water, with streams that reappear after flowing underground.

At the very edge of the park, the walk takes you past a number of historic mills, such as the Bosa mill and the 15th century Bert mill, still operating nowadays and open to visitors.

In San Martino there is a choice of farmhouse-style accommodation and trattorias, and as well as the lovely canals and churches. There is also a museum of period carriages with almost 50 exhibits in perfect working order.

Visit the splendid Villa Manin, residence of the last Doge of Venice: this noble villa, dating back to the 17th century, is a blend of beauty, history, and architectural perfection, with a beautiful park where there are trees from all over the world.

Large-scale events and concerts take place at the villa where there is also the headquarter of the Region's Pro Loco Association (with Infopoint) and the Cultural Heritage's Regional Cataloguing and Restoration Centre.

One of the rooms contains the original bedroom furniture of Napoleon, who signed the Treaty of Campo Formio here in 1797, marking the end of the Venetian Republic.
