Burnjak 2024: mycological walk

Meeting: 9:00 a.m. at the car park of the sports field in Tribil Superiore (33040 Stregna).   The expert mycologist Sergio Costantini will lead us to recognise mushrooms and their environment in the meadows and woods of the Municipality of Stregna.

With Sergio's great enthusiasm, we will learn about the many varieties of edible and non-edible mushrooms, as well as the plants with which they live in symbiosis. There will also be digressions on the local cuisine, which uses mushrooms as the basis of many of its typical preparations.

Anecdotes, legends and stories will frame and accompany us throughout our search while we are immersed in the beautiful autumn colours.

This will be followed by lunch with typical dishes from the Natisone Valleys, at the Burnjak festival, with the following menu: Orzotto with vegetables, lovage and Frant cheese from the Dairy of Cividale Sausage from the Snidaro farm and cabbage with apples Chestnuts from the Natisone Valleys 1 glass of wine, 1/2 litre water Route: on forest roads.

Equipment required: hiking shoes or walking boots, water as required.

Notes: four-legged friends are welcome.
