8th literary evening for the project "Oltreconfine Ungaretti"

Last literary evening of the first phase of Oltreconfine Ungaretti, project of the Cikale Operose Association and the Municipality of Sagrado, financed by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and included in the program of Go!2025 Gorizia and Nova Gorica European capital of culture Mayor Marco Vittori and Deputy Mayor Simonetta Visintin will be present.

Speakers: ELISA DE ZAN with "Ungaretti: story of a man who knew the Carso", in which she will talk about how Ungaretti arrived on the Carso and his human and poetic story so deeply linked to places like Monte San Michele, today also frequented by those who come there to retrace the steps of the poet. LUCIA VINZI and ALEKSANDRA DEVETAK from the Sdraussina Cultural Circle - an association that deals with the enhancement of the territory and its cultural and linguistic peculiarities and promotes Slovenian language and culture courses - will talk about the poems of Ljubka Šorli born inside the Sdraussina Camp. 

Ljubka Šorli, like Giuseppe Ungaretti, suffered in these places the consequences of the follies of the last century, finding comfort and a voice of hope in poetry. FRANCESCO ACCOMANDO, artistic director of the project, will read lyrics and talk about some critical points of Ungaretti's biographies accompanied by live music by guitarist MATTEO ANTONI.

"Oltreconfine Ungaretti" is a network project funded by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region as part of the call dedicated to Ungaretti. Leading municipality of the project: Comune Sagrado Eventi The network: Campolongo Tapogliano, Doberdò del Lago, Mariano del Friuli, Romans d’Isonzo, Santa Maria la Longa and Savogna d’Isonzo and the Gruppo Speleologico Carsico as partners and the Municipalities of Gorizia and Nova Gorica as part of the events of "GO! 2025 Nova Gorica and Gorizia European Capital of Culture 2025”.

The ISIS Galilei of Gorizia also collaborates on the project. 

"Oltreconfine Ungaretti" is a cross-border cultural project between the Italian-speaking and Slovenian-speaking communities, on the creation of a shared historical, cultural and landscape memory and imagination, with the intention of investigating, collecting and telling in theatrical form the human and poetic story of Giuseppe Ungaretti in the period 1914-1919, as it evolves through the terrible experience of the Great War, starting from the lyrics that the poet wrote in territories that today belong to the Friuli Venezia Giulia and nearby Slovenia.
