Artist's Talk with Anouk Chambaz - Project MIND THE BORDER

Anouk Chambaz, Swiss artist involved in a residency between Gorizia and Nova Gorica and sorroundings, meets the students of the New Media School of Art, University of Nova Gorica.

Artist’s talk with Anouk Chambaz Promoted by Altreforme, within the project Mind The Border Mind the Border is an artist residency project in Gorizia/Nova Gorica, produced by Altreforme, Udine, aimed at the production of a new video art work realised in the territory. The professional artist selected for the first edition is the Swiss Anouk Chambaz (Lausanne, 1993). On October 28th, 2024, Anouk Chambaz will meet the students and the community of the School of Arts, University of Nova Gorica, to weave a fruitful dialogue around her art practice, previous works and her current project. Mind the Border is produced by Altreforme, Udine, and financed by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. In collaboration with Casa Netural, ETRARTE Association, Agorè, Young for Fun, Cinemazero, Visionario, Kinemax, University of Nova Gorica School of Arts. Anouk Chambaz (Lausanne, 1993) works with moving images. Her practice revolves around figures of otherness and processes of metamorphosis and resistance. A film and philosophy graduate from Lausanne and Rome, she received a special mention at the International Short Film Festival in Rio de Janeiro in 2024 for ‘Marica’. In 2023 she obtained a special mention at the Premio Francesco Fabbri for her work ‘La mia risata è una cascata’ and in 2022 she won the video section of the Premio Combat. Her works have been exhibited in various institutions including MUSE - Museo delle Scienze (Trento), MACTE - Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Termoli (Termoli), Museo Novecento and Palazzo Vecchio (Florence), Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (Turin), Biennale di Gubbio (Gubbio), Straperetana - Galleria Monitor (Pereto), Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa (Venice), Galleria d'Arte Moderna (Rome), Baleno International (Rome), Lago Film Festival (Lago Revine), Vilnius Film Festival (Vilnius), Newark Museum (USA).
