Tree Orchestra / Symphonic Forest—Opening Event

For the opening ceremony of the virtual sound installation Tree Orchestra / Symphonic Forest, 8 horn players will perform works by Jules Cantin, Kerry Turner, Jacob Evarts and Hector Berlioz.

In a joint performance, the Slovenian FourCor Quartet and four horn players from the Dresden Philharmonic, conducted by Simon Dvoršak, will open the virtual sound installation Tree Orchestra / Symphonic Forest, a co-production of Dresden Philharmonic and European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia. The project is part of the GO! 2025 official programme and its opening event will take place outdoors, in the Rafut Park amphitheatre. In case of rain, the event will take in Nova Gorica Town Hall.

  • Kerry Turner: Farewell to Red Castle,
  • Jacob Evarts: Nostalgia,
  • Hector Berlioz: Carnaval romain.

Musicians:

  • Jaehyung Kim, Harald Heim, Andreas Nickel, Michael Gühne (Dresden Philharmonic),
  • Jože Rošer, Petar Kšenek, Blaž Ogrič, Gašper Okorn (FourCor Quartet),
  • Simon Dvoršak (conductor).
