The GO! Soča-Isonzo project promotes well-being and social cohesion through sports and outdoor activities, accessible to everyone. It consists of three major events, engaging around 3500 people from the surrounding areas of Nova Gorica and Gorizia.The first event, GO! Soča-Isonzo: Riverbanks Cleaning, will focus on cleaning the Soča riverbanks in both Slovenia and Italy before the tourist season. The next event, GO! Bike Day will offer cycling enthusiasts the opportunity to compete, explore new routes, and socialize. The main event, GO! Soča River Descent, will feature 300 boats with top local canoe athletes navigating the river from Solkan to Podgora.
Each event will create a festive atmosphere, with fun activities, giveaways, and food, fostering connection and interaction among participants.
The project is financed by the European Union through the GO! 2025 Small Project Fund of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Programme, managed by the EGTC GO.
