The ZAFA25 project involves building a radio telescope on the Slovenian side and expanding the existing planetarium on the Italian side. These facilities will serve as hubs for scientific research, university education, and the promotion of radio astronomy in schools. The expansion will make the planetarium the largest in the FJK region, further strengthening the role of the local astronomical society. The initiative aims to foster collaboration between institutions through the exchange of knowledge and experiences, connecting cultures and bringing the wonders of astronomy closer to the public.
The project is financed by the European Union through the GO! 2025 Small Project Fund of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021–2027 Programme, managed by the EGTC GO.
