From Station to Station: GO! 2025 Opening

At the opening ceremony of the European Capital of Culture, we will symbolically unite the two cities, from Gorizia Centrale Railway Station to the Nova Gorica Railway Station. Join us for this borderless day!

GORIZIA

10:00: Gorizia Centrale Railway Station: start of the cross-border parade with the wind orchestra
10:45, Trgovski dom: joining of the combined Slovenian and Italian police orchestra
11:15, Piazza della Vittoria: cultural programme with speeches by the mayors of both cities
13:15, cross-border parade from Piazza della Vittoria to Carinarnica with cultural programme
13:30, Piazza della Vittoria: performances by choir Middle school Ivan Trinko, choir municipality employees, Dance school Tersicore, Asd Dance & Fit Academy, Danza GOKaos, Gorizia Wind Orchestra
17:00, Piazza della Vittoria: performances by high school students from Liceo Classico Dante Alighieri, Licei Slataper (video Barraonda and the Barcolana crew), choir Licei Slataper and Dance school Movartex.

EUROPE SQUARE

16:00: introductory ceremony with speeches

Please note that due to space constraints and enhanced security, the attendance will be limited; a live broadcast will be available in Bevkov trg and in Piazza della Vittoria. Participation is possible only with prior registration; entrance is only possible from Erjavčeva ulica.

NOVA GORICA

14:00: the crossborder parade will cross the border near Carinarnica and will continue on Erjavčeva ulica and Rusjanov trg to Bevkov trg • attractive programme with 1400 participants
15:00, Bevkov trg: speeches by the mayors of both cities • food and drink stalls
16:00–18:00, Trg Edvarda Kardelja: gathering on the venue
18:00, Trg Edvarda Kardelja: artistic spectacle, the central event of the opening of the European Capital of Culture

It is recommended to arrive before 17:00.
