The premiere of 'The Emperor’s Tomb', the first part of the theatrical trilogy 'Inabili alla Morte' (Nezmožni umreti), produced by Mittelfest and part of the official programme of GO! 2025, is now approaching.

Natalino Balasso takes on the role of Francesco Ferdinando Trotta, a young Slovenian nobleman and the main character of Joseph Roth's famous novel. It's a journey through the history of Europe in the first half of the twentieth century, from World War I to the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and to the annexation of Austria by Nazi Germany in 1938.

Who's Trotta? He's a clumsy bon vivant, swept up in both personal dramas and the whirlwind of history during this period of massive change. Picture dissolute friendships, decadent nobles, failed soldiers, overbearing mothers, ambiguous relationships, adventurers, and braggarts, set against the backdrop of a fractured Central European world.

Tickets are available here for the dates of May 10th and 11th, 2024.
