Lettura ad personam

An event entitled Lettura ad personam will be organised as part of the Ci. Corrispondenze immaginaire project 

Lettura ad personam will be organised in Gorizia and Trieste on 30 October from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m, a part of GO! 2025 official programme. This individual reading experience is meant for one person at a time.

The first imaginary correspondence was organised in Volterra in 2022, the second the following year in Calitra. During the event, the participants were replying to the letters written by the patients in the former psychiatric hospitals in the two cities that have never been sent. People of all ages have been participating in these public letter-writing campaigns by writing imaginary responses to the letters from former patients.

Participants in Gorizia will receive the transcribed letters and their replies, and by reading them in complete silence, will have the opportunity to listen to the dialogues between the voices of the past and the present, brought to life by imaginary correspondence. Afterwards, participants will be invited to a separate room to comment in writing on their reading experience. The aim of the project is to design a new, imaginary community without discrimination and marginalisation.

The event will be held in Italian.
