Radio play The Capuchin Crypt
You are invited to listen to the radio play The Capuchin Crypt.
The premiere of the radio play The Capuchin Crypt will be broadcast on 15 and 22 April 2025 at 21:05, in the regular radio drama slot on Radio Slovenia’s First Programme.
The radio play is based on the novel of the same name by Austrian writer and Jewish publicist Joseph Roth. The central character, Franc Ferdinand Trotta, a Slovene by nationality, uses the story of his family to depict the downfall of the once-shared homeland—the powerful Austro-Hungarian Empire—while also exposing the difficult transition into the newly formed Austrian society marked by the rise of Nazism.
All roles in the play are performed by current and former actors of the Slovenian National Theatre Nova Gorica.
The project was produced as part of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia, and is a component of the radio trilogy Unable to Die.
