TALK RADIO

A performance that revives the historic Gorizian radio station, which between 1945 and 1947 broadcast jazz music and the masterpieces of Frank Sinatra.
Between 1945 and 1947, Gorizia experienced a brief yet vibrant musical era defined by jazz. American liberation forces established a radio station that aired the iconic works of Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, and the rising star Frank Sinatra. Talk Radio recounts this significant chapter, highlighting how jazz became a source of hope and renewal for a generation worn down by the war.
Based on a text by Angelo Floramo, narrated by Alessio Boni, with historical research by Elia Pivetta and Marco Caronna (who also serves as the radio host and director), the orchestra of the Accademia musicale Naonis accompanies soloists Glauco Venier, Mirko Cisilino, and Alfonso Deidda in performing specially arranged pieces by conductor Valter Sivilotti. The performance invites the audience to relive the enduring cultural impact of this historic Gorizian radio station.
