Invitation to participate in the Critical Writing Workshop.
Do you want to master writing reviews? Are you interested in how to observe and evaluate works of art? Would you like to follow and write about the European Capital of Culture? Would you like to publish your texts on radio or in a newspaper and learn about the editorial process? Register for the critical writing workshop organised by the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Nova Gorica and the Carinarnica Cultural Hub in the framework of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia.
The workshop offers a comprehensive insight into critical writing, from observing artistic and cultural events to writing reviews and understanding editorial processes in Slovene media. The focus will be on practical work—attending cultural events, collaborating with various experts and writing texts on performing and visual arts, music and contemporary artistic practices. The workshop will be practically oriented and will involve attending cultural events and collaborating with experts in the field of art and media. The workshop will take place on Fridays from the end of February to June in Nova Gorica.
Who can apply?
- Young people aged between 18 and 35 who are interested in writing, art, culture and media.
- The workshop is free of charge, will be held in Slovene language and will last approximately 20 hours.
- Places are limited!
Registration should include:
- Name and surname, contact details, year of birth.
- A short motivation letter (half to one A4 page) describing your interests and possible experience in art or media.
- Submit the text in a Word document (.doc or .docx).
- Applications should be sent to: carinarnica@razpotja.si. The deadline for applications is 19 February 2025.
