Patrizia Dughero and Simone Cuva have been working in publishing for more than 25 years and founded their own publishing house in Bologna 11 years ago. Qudulibri is a small Italian publishing house, now based in Gorizia, run by two individuals who aim to demonstrate that culture helps people maintain their humanity and ethical awareness.
"Our relocation to this area was planned several years before Nova Gorica and Gorizia were awarded the title of European Capital of Culture 2025. For us, border towns have always represented a hub of cultural exchange, a place where various interactions take place, from learning new languages to exchanging opportunities. Above all, such places serve as evidence that every border is limitless for those who live and cross it. This perspective encourages us to look beyond", say Patrizia and Simone.
Since its establishment, the publishing house has released 150 books, covering non-fiction, fiction, children's and young adult literature, art catalogs, and poetry. Next week, from April 4th to 7th, you will have the opportunity to explore their publications firsthand. For the second consecutive year, the publishing house is organizing "Gorizia most", a literary festival highlighting independent publishing, featuring a book fair, concerts, and book presentations.
You can find the programme here, available in both Italian and Slovenian. Slovenian exhibitors will also be present – confirming Patrizia and Simone's commitment to fostering cross-border connections.
