The European call for entries, managed by EGTC GO and funded by Interreg Italy-Slovenia, will support additional 17 projects.
Good news for 17 new cross-border partnerships, which had submitted their project last April under the first SPF GO! 2025 call for entries (GO! 2025 Small Project Fund). The call is managed by the EGTC GO and funded by the Interreg Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 programme.
Thanks to an additional fund of €3.2 million from the FVG Region, it was possible to support additional projects from the ranking list. Closed in April 2023, the European SPF GO! 2025 call was created to support cross-border projects, and support the official European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica-Gorizia programme.
The first call received great interest, with over 200 applications received by the EGTC GO: 44 projects from the ranking list will be funded. Many cultural proposals, as well as tourism, food and wine, and sports are among the ideas jointly developed by Italian and Slovenian partners.
The approaches vary: some focus on technology, new media, and gamification for the enjoyment of cultural activities and tourism proposals, while others emphasize community involvement.
The areas of interest are different too: there are ancient arts such as glassblowing and circus, sports activities such as basketball and flying, and specific projects focused on ancient fairy tales or training for food and wine operators.
However, sustainability and borderless dialogue are the key words for all projects. The second SPF GO! 2025 call for entries is expected to be published in the coming months, further enriching the activities of the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica-Gorizia, and helping prepare the area for an eventful year.
Here you can find all the funded projects.
